I know you guys are living it up and rightfully so. I'm only 25, so I never got to experience a lot of SMU's history, but I heard a lot about it growing up. I've always rooted for you guys, even though I really have no ties to the area or denomination. (I'm presbyterian, not that it really matters.) It's good to see historically successful teams rise to the top, even if it's been a while since that history was created. Alabama's had a pretty up and down 25 year period too! I don't like seeing the Boise State's or Cincinnati's of the world in the top 10. Even though it's been a while, you guys still have a lot more history than many of the Johnny-come-lately's, and it was great to see you win the other night. I hope June stays for a while, he's a great coach, one of the more underrated in the country. Here's to continued success of the Mustangs. and Roll Tide!!

I wouldn't expect too much less You guys in Texas have as much state pride as any state in the country. It's good to have state pride. I'm from Mississippi, and as much as I can't stand Ole MIss, I hope they succeed anytime they play someone from outside the state lines (sans Bama.)

Thanks Bama fan. I was at the LSU-Bama game this year. I have daughter at LSU (and my wife and I both have degrees from LSU). I was impressed by the sportsmanship of the Bama fans around us. Only one obnoxious drunk but the others were gracious and warm.
After seeing Bama, I told all around me that Bama would kill Florida. And I think Bama will do the same against Texas.

Include tcu in your "Johnny come lately" definition. They never sniffed a winning season until we got the death penalty and the school quit trying to be competitiv. They have been the benefactor of all of that and we are going to sprint right by them in a couple of years.

I usually hate/dislike southern schools. I know SMU is kind of a southern school, kind of ? I look at it as a national school that happens to be in the south. But since you are playing UT, beat them with every bone in your bodies. Do what SMU did to Nevada. We will play soon enough against you.

The main reason I want Alabama to win is because of an SMU buddy of mine that comes from a Texas family, and relentlessly talks about how glorious UT basketball and football is. I'd love to shut him up 'til march at least lol.. Also I'll be sitting with Alabama this year, my dad and I go to the rose bowl every year, family tradition : )
