Something to consider

Phillips is our #1 rated passer and our #2 rusher already.

To me that says 2 things:
1) Our other quarterbacks have been completely unproductive (no surprise). Phillips should get every snap this week. If a guy with 4 career passes and 1 game played is the best you have, then go with him. Let him know you have confidence in him. Don't bench him after he leads us to our first opening drive touchdown of the season.

2) Nobody else has gotten a shot at running back. KK is a stud, but is our coaching staff saying that NOTHING good could possibly come from changing things up once in a while? Kris Briggs was a different style back, and when we used him last year he was very effective. Why haven't we given someone else a shot this year?

1. I agree. Play Phillips every snap.

2. Not sure here. I have no real info, but Fitzgerald must've done something to make the staff not play him. Remember all the hype surrounding him during the spring and pre-season? Have hardly seen him this year. Who else is there besides him with Massey and Munlin not playing this year?

Phillips' statistics are statistically insignificant. There are not enough attempts to make any assertions.

Play Phillips, yes.

There are no other RBs that offer anything until next year (Foy M., Richuel, perhaps some others).

I don't know, I hear Fitzgerald has looked pretty good in practice. I'm a huge KK fan, but i've got to believe he wears down, at least a little.

I have noticed that KK seems to give up after about 40 carries (usually around the middle of the 3rd quarter). :whistling: I say that tongue in cheek. He runs down after so many carries. He does need a little breather from time to time. Also, putting in another underclassman RB will give them some experience.

The Pony Express didn't set the world on fire their first year either. They needed a little seasoning.

Mr. T chuckled at this... I got the joke, but you should not have to put that "tongue in cheek" in your posts - these suckas grip too quick around here. I may have to start throwin' foo's around again ! <img src="http://www.isomedia.com/homes/tonyc/mrt/titanic/throw.jpg" alt=" - " />

I've been observing the same thing, KK works as hard as anyone but he's still human he needs a blow every once and a while, we may need him in the 4th Qtr.

I know I read somewhere that Bennett said Johnny would get more playing time this week at Tulsa, I didn't see him in the game.

I must agree. Play Phillips to the end. The only way he will get the feel of the game is to play him and play him while he is hot. You can only get better with experience. I listened to the game against Tulsa on "the ticket" and was amazed of the decision from the coach to take Phillips out and play Wallis----Come on Coach

Play to Win!

The reason Bennett took Phillips out of the game was that the Tulsa defense moving around was rattling him to the point that he was messing up his cadence at the line thus causing most if not all of the false starts...something he is probably working on in practice this week.
