Matt Barkley, Andrew Luck or Kyle Padron?

From the small portion I saw of the USC game tonight I'd take Kyle Padron over Matt Barkley (as a freshmen QB). And that is not saying Barkley is a bad QB. He is good, I just think Kyle is better.

Matt's efficiency rating before the bowl game was 128. Padrons is basically 160 for 2009.

Gotta like that.

His passes seem smooth and with touch down the field....the receivers seem to read them well...

Kyle's the man. Last fall I ran home every Friday night to check how he'd done. Now my spouse gets it. From the early film, I knew he had good footwork and mechanics. Does he keep running to the sideline between plays next season?

Wow. Already Padron is better than Barkley? Lets not order those 2011 National Title T-shirts just yet. Padron is great but Barkley is a future Heisman candidate, All American, and will be a top 5 draft pick.

Kyle looks like a great fit for June's system and could be one of the best mustangs to play under center.....but playing well as a true freshman at SMU and USC are night and day. Let us not forget, we lost to Washington State this year and Matt Barkley has as many interview requests as Kobe Bryant does in a a given week. Just to minor differences between the programs.

Padron, was offered after he had never played a game in high school and speaks more to June's eye for talent and for finding talent that fits his system.....let not start saying that Padron is better than the number one recruit in the nation who is starting at the top program in the country.

If you dont believe me, as any college head coach or NFL GM who they would rather have. It's fun that we can even have this debate though!

Timmy Chang was pushed by JJ as a Heisman candidate. Colt Brennan actually made it to the big apple as a Heisman finalist. If Padron can put up record passing numbers and low INTs, he could be a Heisman finalist like Colt Brennan. But the proof is the NFL draft pick. I think Padron might go high in his junior year. 1st round NFL draft pick???????? 8)

This thread's WAY ahead of itself but one thing I love about Padron is his ability to understand and learn. the coaches say that he picks things up incredibly fast, they don't have to repeat instructions, great spatial awarenessm, etc

We lost to WSU because BLM had a terrible second half and threw 3/4 interceptions including some that were run back for TDs. That was the game before BLM was diagnosed with medical problems which contributed to his physical and mental fatigue.

Love Kyle. But lets not forget the level or competition. Pac 10 v. CUSA. Also Nevada's pass D v. BC's pass D. There are some huge differences there. I am not knocking Kyle, but lets be a little more realistic here.
