Heard him interviewed on ESPN radio and he just flat out said he wants the job at Tech. Kind of rare to hear a coach say it outright but I guess it helps if you are unemployed.

Right. Dude needs a job, and has no current employer, to whom he has to fake loyalty.

I always thought he was a good coach and believe he would do well and be a good fit at Tech

Tuberville is a really good coach but not sure about the fit at Tech. You have to wonder what kind of an offense he would run? He has traditionally had more of a run based offense, and the spread offense he tried pretty much got him fired his last year. This is going to be an interesting one to watch.

If he goes to a run based offense think of all the recruits that may bail. :D

Only someone really needing a job will go there right no methinks. Way too much drama.

I heard (on one of the talk stations) that he has family in that area. That is another reason for him to want that job. Don't know if that is true or not, but it would make sense for him to have interest if true. And yes...he is out of a job!

One of my sons married a girl from a well connected Auburn family. Their view about Tuberville was that he had one good year and received a contract extension that made it more expensive to buy him out.

And I agree. Ditto for Tuberville's overall record or just the Auburn years, especially if you have been an SMU fan during the same period. Certainly his record at Auburn was almost as good as Leach's at TTU.

Shows the difference between their expectations based on schedule, personnel, and history and ours.

actually might be a good move by Tech...especially if they pay him close to the same $$ Leach was getting...that would shoot Leach's argument they wanted out of the contract because it was too rich for Tech
