After all the latest coach press lately , nice to see Joe and Bobby stick with a program for so many years. Hardly see that at all anymore with the Franchione's, Saban's of the coaching world.

Gonna miss that 'dad gum' FSU coach Bobby......always glib and he never put any players in the shed....

somebody's head should roll at CBS over the audio disasters with
Bobby Bowden after the game and in the awards presentation.
totally unacceptable to ruin such a special moment for the
Florida State nation.

Glad to see FSU send Bobby out a winner. It was sad to see his career end the way it did this year. Hope the same doesn't happen to Joe Pa.

They are both great and unique coaches. IIRC JoePa donated 3-5 million dollars to Penn St. a few years ago. How many coaches do you see do that? Maybe he should give some lessons to Leach in humility and caring. I hope JoePa retires now that he won another bowl.

GO PONIES!!!

I remember that song. That was when Jimmi\y Jordan and Wally Woodham were the QB's at FSU.

The same type of sentiment brewing that forced Bobby out was stirring at Penn St for JoePa just a few years ago. They don't make coaches like these guys anymore.

I fained a new found respect for JoePa after seeing him put his program back on top of the Big Ten after all that talk. Also got my respect after he cracked down [deleted] the whole team when some of them got involved in a brawl a few years ago. He is one coach that gets it.

And given that he makes "only" about $500k/yr and does so much for the school, it shows you how much of a self-centered, egotistical jack@ss that Mike Leach is.

But isnt it also egotistical to hang on as head coach well after any reasonable time frame for retirement - they both lhave an unatural love of the spot light. It was time for both of them to leave a long time ago.

Bowden and Paterno are egoist in their own right. Time to exit gracefully instead of making the powers that be push you off the ledge - like they had to do at Florida State.

They probably remember Bear Bryant died about a month after he retired.

Bobby actually said that about retirement. Once you stop working, there's only one place left to go...and I'm not ready to get there.

Whatever else it and he might be, Penn State has been a football factory of the first water and Joe Pa the king bee there. Altogether very much like FSU and Bobby Bowden.
