Padron

Ok...I may be delusional, but of all the QBs I've seen in these bowl games...give me Padron. I'm looking forward to the next three years...and if someone can beat him out for starting position then I will be really amped up, because that guy will have to be absolutely dynamite.

Like JJ said when he was at Hawaii, He wouldnt want Tim Tebow because Tebow is good in his system but wouldnt be good in JJ's. I might rather have SHefield from tech. That guy is the most accurate QB I have ever seen. Had Suh not broken his foot everyone would know his name!

C'mon, SMU21TCU10 I wasn't opening it up for serious debate. Padron was brilliant in the bowl game and he's only going to get better.... That Tebow guy that no one has ever heard of before ;) I think he may have won something called a Heisman, just had a great game too, hence the joke.

I got ridiculed for saying and actually believing that I would rather have June Jones than any coach in America. So I think I am qualified to poke a little fun at someone else's overstated-and-perhaps-too-soon annointing of KP as the greatest thing since Dandy Don.

PK, he is pretty damned good though. And SMUTCU, this entire message was delivered with in a lighthearted manner.

ha didnt mean to come off like I was debating! My bad! :D I agree though Padron is amazing. You can count me in as someone who thought he had a lot of potential but would not be able to get us to a bowl game as a true freshman. I am glad i was wrong though! Padron was amazing. Especially when you consider he only played in 5 games in high school! He will be better than Brennan by his junior year I guarantee that!

I only pointed that out because JJ got so much ridicule for making those comments about Tebow!

And As for Sheffield. I have watched a lot of highly touted qb's over the bowl season and thought to myself "i would much rather have Padron" but I gotta say. Sheffield really is the best passer I have ever seen!

I think it's safe to say Padron played better than anyone expected...probably including the coaching staff. Will be fun to see how he does in the spring and in his Soph season. If he continues to improve, he's really going to be a special player for SMU.

With the NMSU transfer and if BLM returns...along with the incoming recruit(s), it looks like we may actually have some depth at the QB position. What a difference a coach makes!

So who won the Florida Hawai'i game that next year?
52 - 10 chomp chomp

Lot of guys don't think TT will fit the NFL as a QB I think their all wrong.

His arm motion is slower than normal and low. They say in the pros the window of time is faster than his current mechanics.

I would like to see Tebow get a chance. There's no doubt he'll do whatever he can, and work as hard as needed to be the best QB he can be. A lot of people dogged Vince Young too coming into the draft, and all he's done is win; his impact on the Titans this year can't be denied. The NFL has plenty of guys that don't have the ideal mechanics, but can get it done. It's also full of guys who look like the prototype QB and can't do it.

OK, I should have included a caveat...I haven't watched every bowl game. I did watch the mud bowl with PS and LSU, a little bit of the Gator bowl with FSU and WV, the Rose bowl with OSU and Oregon and the CB Classic with Ole Miss and OSU. I'm still very happy with Padron. 8)

Billy Kilmer did okay for himself in the pros, and he couldn't throw a spiral to save his life

yep, besides player grad and JJ leaving, the biggest crush on the psyche of that program was probably the reality of two SEC beatdowns for a cumulative 93-20 in back to back games after being 12-0.
