It's very quiet in Fort Worth

Postby George S. Patton » Tue Jan 05, 2010 12:18 pm

Don't see the purple out in full force. Campus is empty because it's between semesters. But you would think that Fiesta Bowl never happened.

Hmmmmm.

Just to taunt a little bit. It's our rival, but again they should be commended on the great season they have had and this run. Not many teams can pull off 24-2 over the last two years.

I'll say this again -- If we are as committed to making football the monster we want it to be, we will do in 5 years what it took TCU to do in 10.

We already have a longer winning streak than they do.

General,
I have to agree with you. I believe within five years we could be doing the BCS fox-Trott. I think it will be either three years(Padron is a senior by then) or it will take a couple of years after that.

I just don't want to meet a fate similar to Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl

AMEN. But I would like to think it won't only because JJ can recruit Texas while at Hawaii I assume that was a little more difficult.

I think that one of the big reasons to come to SMU for Coach Jones, was the ability to rebuild the program in a recruit rich environment. This should give him better athletes than he was able to get with his $1.50 recruiting buget in Hawaii. The result should (good Lord willing) be a team that forever puts to rest the idea the he's a finesse coach who can't hang with the powerhouses.
