Radio show said, that the horns lead the nation in arrest over the last two years, with Florida #2. Would we sell our souls to be #3?

It is a shame that a seemingly nice guy like Mack Brown will have his great record and achievements somewhat tarnished by his insistence on recruiting a certain number of bad guys who are great athletes to our state's flagship university. Even he admits that about 50% of these recruits turn out bad. No excuse for this. Texas has plenty of great athletes who are also good students and good citizens. Let the bad ones go to juco and prove themselves. Too few scholarships available to waste on the bad guys.

Mack also made jokes yesterday about some of his players' inability to spell.
What a guy. :)

He did? Are you serious?
Mocking HIS OWN players' academic abilities?
Nice.

Nice.

From today's DMN:
Mack's humor: Brown was asked to define Texas football in his news conference, and he cracked a joke at his and his team's expense.

"You want to be fast," he said. "You want to have fun. You want to be physical. I wasn't the smartest guy in the world, so one day I said [to the team], 'it's full of F's.' And they all laughed. Some of them didn't get it – that bothered me more."

That's why I think SMU's goal should be to contend for the Conference USA title every year, and if they can do that I will be happy.

To be in national championship contention you have to make those compromises like Tennessee and Texas do.

Seemingly nice guy? Mack Brown is the epitome of a rogue punk coach and a sorry loser as well. The arrogance is just too much to take.
