Due to technical difficulties at Ford Stadium, the special message to the 1989 Mustangs from Forrest Gregg did not show as planned. Here it is again courtesy of Thadfilms, who recorded the message to the 1989 team while his production crew was in Colorado filming for his feature film Article 19.

That was the trailer for Thadfilm's movie. Same trip to visit coach Gregg, different video (that one wasn't to the 1989 team).

No, Webmaster, Lifeson is correct. You put up the video as it was intended to play at half time. As we had only so much time it had to be extremely brief... I put together a longer version to send out a longer version to members of the '89 team, after the video failed to play that night against SF.A

Here's the longer version:

Damnit Thad. I am choked up now.

You may not win any awards in film for chronicling this program as you have, but you should win one from the university and the athletic department. Rock on brother.

Thanks man. I'm sure going to try to win awards anyhow! True, I won't win awards for that clip. But that was a message meant for the guys, that we had hoped would be shown at the reunion. Too bad it wasn't.

And Webmaster... I didn't make much of a to do about that youtube clip of the longer version when I posted it because I wanted to make sure the team actually got it first. I know it was released to them via email/youtube, but I also heard that SMU was going to send the guys a DVD of that.

Cool! The skinny burger at the 1st and 10 would be great!

Totally. I went beyond being choked up and started to let it go a little bit. Anyways, one of my favorite things about this is how a lot of guys from that 89 team went on to be very successful people. And that doesn't surprise me. It would take an enormous amount of guts and character to do what they did.

Gregg's coaching philosophy is much like Wade Phillips. whose Dad, Bum, was
offensive coordinator under Hayden Fry.

Hope he doesn't get fired if he loses tonights game against the Iggles.
