Shawnbrey McNeal to the NFL?

If so, good for him and good luck. I wonder if he will claim SMU or the U?

Where did u hear this? Post a link please. I haven't heard or seen anything regarding this anywhere besides speculation from other posters. I really hope he doesn't leave. As fast and talented as he is, I feel like it would benefit him much more to come back for another year and build his name up a little more. One more year would help his stock tremendously.

Subscribing to rivals or scout is worth it

Ok so if he doesn't get picked up, can he decide to come back for next year. Or when he declares does that make him ineligible even if doesn't get picked up?

I think it depends if they get an agent or not?

he can apply in order to get feedback on his draft prospects and as long as he doesn't get an agent he can withdraw and retain eligibility

I understand his family situation, but I hope our offensive MVP (by far) will stay.

I saw something on 20/20 once where they put kids in a room one at a time and put a single m&m on the table in front of the kid and said, "This m&m is for you. You can eat it now. Or, you can stare at it for 20 minutes, and as a reward for waiting, we'll give you 2 m&m's." Fascinating study. Results were about half and half. Maybe not a great football comparison, but the principle definitely applies here. Stay in school Shawnbrey, your NFL stock will go up next year!

If he wants to do what's best for himself and family he needs to go back to school. For what it's worth he is ranked by cbs sports as the #35 running back in the junior class. He will need to jump ahead of alot of guys to win a spot on a ball club. Best of luck to you Shawnbrey. It was great watching you run.

Another thing to realize is by going back to school he will earn his degree. I believe that he definitely has the talent to play in the NFL, but it is important to have that degree because it will give him other opportunities to support his family if things don't go his way in the football world

I thought this thread was talking about Lane Kiffin since he was a one and done at Tennessee.

I think it's the school part (earning the degree) that may be leading him away. There were academic issues before the bowl, and Coach said he wouldn't work out in the Spring so he could concentrate on his classes. I love the guy and hope to God he stays and that he takes advantage of our incredible academic support resources at SMU.
