Somehow I think that they will be motivated wanting to whip the school that Craig James attended.

You left out something, General. James says he didn't do it.
Perhaps a question mark would look good at the end of your subject line.

You know when a parent is concerned about the health of his or her child, the parent is likely to say or threaten lots of things in the heat of the moment. I don't fault Craig one bit whatever he said or didn't say. You know when you kick people when you're on top, you don't have a lot of friends when you start going the other way. Leach was arrogant on the way up, running up scores, shopping himself for every high profile job to get a pay raise out of Tech, and now he wonders why everyone dumped him like a cheap suit when he sniffed a scandal. Sorry, Mr. Leach, Tech is better off without you and your bulbous self.

Only in Lubbock would they blame a school that wanted no part of this "duo" of James and James. They should look in the mirror if their want to find their scapegoat.

For you, perhaps, but it's not accurate until the truth comes out.

The headline on the ESPN story basically mirrors mine. And the fact that the story talked about a memo -- A MATTER OF PUBLIC RECORD BECAUSE TEXAS TECH IS A PUBLIC ENTITY -- that revealed James' intentions, also makes this A VERY APPROPRIATE SUBJECT LINE. SO GET OVER IT.

BTW, the story did appropriately get the James side of the story. Now, it may not as gone as high in the story as you would have desired, but that angle was covered.

This story is being reported as it unfolds Sherlock. The truth -- as you refer to it -- is either stemming from when it goes to court and has a decision or a settlement is reached.

Stop being such a suck up for James because that's exactly what's fueling this from your side.

I kicked your arse in the last journalism argument. Do I have to do it again?

 That's a good one, Sarge.

Hey, for your info, public records, court docs, etc., have inaccuracies, lies all the time. What, folks don't lie under oath? Again,
ESPN's headline? It's inaccurate too. All one has to do is read the story.
The correct headline? Court Docs: James Threatened To Sue.

The father of injured Texas Tech receiver Adam James threatened to sue the university if it didn't investigate then-coach Mike Leach, according to a memo released Wednesday.

Texas Tech University System attorney Ronny Wall wrote in the Tuesday memo to the Texas attorney general that the threat came during a Dec. 20 exchange with James' father, ESPN college football analyst Craig James. The Avalanche-Journal obtained a copy of the memo in response to an open records request.

The headline is accurate. The attribution of where it came from is in the first graph. It's fine.

Journalism 101 question: How do you know that court documents have inaccuracies and lies in them? Can you prove that every court document and public record is inaccurate? That is your subjective interpretation.

The reporter can only write what public records reveal. That's a journalism 101 aspect as well. As for the interpretation of them, that's where you get the reaction to the public from the parties. Hence, you got the James spokesman's response.

Are you following this, kid? Are do you have your head so far up the James' camp's butt, you can't see?

I'm not sure I see what the problem is here. That's called lighting a fire under someone's feet. Those parents without the financial where with all that James has might have said something along the lines of "I'll come over there and kick your [deleted] if you don't investigate the coach." Basically it is a matter of getting someone to do the right thing when they are dragging their feet. Asking for an investigation is a long ways away from asking for the coach to be fired. Tech administration probably came to that conclusion on their own since they were not particularly pleased with Leach anyway.
