http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... fb0f3.htmlA few weeks ago, Terrell watched a TV special on Miami football. Those players all came from South Florida, and they cherished their shared roots, and they won plenty of football games.
He envisions them doing the same, minus the arrogance.
"I don't want to act like that, but we've got a pride about us," Terrell says. "We can make Dallas proud."
It'd be nice if they realized a better parallel to the "U" would be if they stayed in the area they group up in and helped turn around a once great program...whilst making Dallas proud, and living near where they grew up. I hope someday a group of bad [deleted] recruits from Dallas, be it football or basketball (hopefully both), decide they can stay close to home, dominate the world and then move on to the pros.

Logic not one of your strong points. Miami is a small private school hundreds of miles away from Orlando in South Florida. Why should the Orlando paper have a rather ho-hum Miami recruiting class as the Big pre-signing date story when there aren't many Miami alumni living in Orlando. Texas is a State university which dominated recruiting in this part of the country and probably deserved to be covered by the Dallas paper as the one pre-recruiting day signing story since there are more Texas alums in Dallas than any other school. The Texas Class is the BIG STORY. If SMU had that class then I'm sure SMU's class would be the BIG STORY. Its simple business economics once again.

Context and reading comprehension evidently are not your strong points today. Wasnt talking about specific recruiting classes, but whatever. I'll give you a pass as a tip of the cap to the tidbits of recruiting info you've come up with of late. And by the way, while I'm by no means the geography tsar, the reason I used the analogy of Orlando:Dallas and Miami:Austin was for a) distance (about a three hour drive) and b) program profile (big). And that's it.

It's all about the U. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODymUrMeVe4&It's all about the U. (All joking aside maybe/hopefully we/I can do something about this.)

I take great comfort in your lack of logic too. Confirms the truth. Seriously, do you guys think through your thought patterns before coming to these startling conclusions.

Everyone who truly thinks there are more SMU alums or fans who take the Dallas Morning News than there are Texas alums or fans, please step forward.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

I don't think that's the point. I think the point is that the recruits compared leaving their home area for Austin to play college ball to a documentary about recruits going to their hometown college to play ball. "The U" was about players from Miami making Miami proud by playing and winning at a school in Miami. These recruits compare that to being from Dallas and making Dallas proud by playing and winning at a school in Austin.

Correct, my angle here was not to [deleted] about DMN coverage, but to point out the absurdity of going to a school 200 miles away to make your home city proud and comparing it to kids who stayed at home and helped build a program in their city. I will again reiterate my point that I hope a group of kids in Dallas feel the same way towards SMU someday.

That was exactly what I thought the first time you posted and I strongly agree but we have some fans that are eager to defend all other teams, especially the horns while stepping on the Stangs.
