Parks had some Big 12 offers but was sold on the athletics and academics at SMU.
“It’s a blessing to be one of however many kids to receive a full ride to a Division I school,†Parks said. “I’m excited to spend my career there. It’s every kid’s dream to play in the Big 12, but once I looked more into it and the academics, because I want to major in business and they have one of the best business schools in the nation, that made it solid.
“Also, Coach (June) Jones coming to SMU, he’s a great coach. He turns programs around. I wanted to play for him.â€
