Mustang Club signing party

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Thu Feb 04, 2010 10:50 am

Wow, over 500 Mustang fans last night!!! June was blown away by the crowd, and said they never had anything like this in Hawaii. June also said, we're going to need a bigger room next year. All bandwagoners welcome aboard the June Jones Express!!!

Absolutely right — that place was JUMPING.

Good to see a lot of former players there: Allan Adami, Jason Evans, Mercury Hall, Wendell Washington, Tyree Taylor, Tom Huemiller, Greg Gardner, Ryan Wolcott, Kevin Garrett, Dave Richards ... I know there were more, but that's who I saw that I can remember at the moment.

Some of the recruits' highlights were ridiculous.

My personal favorite: Kevin Pope. That kid is going to be a player.

Fun event, but the food spread was woefully inadequate. Great turnout though.

Greg Gardner was there?!?!
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Why are you surprised?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

That had to be sarcastic. Dude was president of Mustang Club.

It was cool to see those players from "my generation" of SMU football (mid-late 90's). I think that was Jeff Pennington hanging with those guys, too.

Great to hug my SMU friends last night. Big crowd of smiling faces.

New recruits will help out but we still need two NG's. And yes, the staff knows that too.

Food, well let's say when I got home I cooked dinner.

450 of the guests did not RSVP and that's why they ran out of food. :)

Yup — I saw Pennington there. Didn't get a chance to go introduce myself, though.

Best June Jones moment of the night....?

1) June Jones & Gary Cogill singing their high school alma mater
2) June Jones waxing poetic about the 2010 recruits
3) June Jones admitting that he loves beating T.C.U. at anything!
3) June Jones saying (in response to my question about next year's bowl) that he wants the Mustangs to be 'BCS BUSTERS'!
