Cactus Jack's Cantina & Grill in Ruston, where the motto is "Don't drink the water, drink the margaritas."

Cactus Jack's Cantina & Grill offers authentic Mexican dining cuisine mixed with an intelligent atmosphere second to none. With separate family dining areas, cantina, smoking and non,and a back bar with nightly live music, you can't go wrong no matter what kind of mood you're in! :w00t:

Just down the road from Louisiana Tech University, it's a great place to hang out with your friends to see live bands, or just sit and have a quiet dinner.

November 7, 2003 - Ritchie Johnson Acoustic - no cover

November 8, 2003 - Seth Hightower Band - $5 cover 10% off w/ Tech game ticket (excluding alcohol)

Since it is a 2:00 pm game, I would recommend driving over that morning and staying in Shreveport/Bossier that night...

That way you can have the nitelife that Ruston doesn't provide -

If you are looking for places to eat - Rabb's on the I-20 service road (steak) or Ponchatula's downtown (seafood) are both pretty good...

Us over at Bulldog, Barks & Bytes will be tailgating as usual saturday and any of ya'll are welcome to stop by for food and drink -

Is the SMU band traveling to Ruston to give support to the team?

Yes, the full Mustang Band is going to the La Tech game. That will give me 10 games I get to go to this year, band playing at 9 (could have been 10, but tulsa wouldn't allow an unnofficial pep band). That has got to be the most games played at by the band since the SWC days. That will another bonus of the new C-USA, hopefully yearly trips to Houston, Tulsa, and New Orleans, plus any OOC matchups against Baylor, Tech, OSU, etc.

BTW, does the Tech BOP still have those powder blue uniforms? Is there an explanation behind that?

GREAT! I am glad our band is going to Ruston. I only have one request from the band..... Each time our opponent gets and the hurdle to call their plays.....STRIKE UP THE LOUD AND CLEAR... like they do on our boys! Maybe this will give a positive beat for the team! Beat them drums, play the horns.... let them know .... SMU band is #1!!!!!!!! :thumbupcool:
