DALLAS (SMU) - ESPN has selected SMU's 2010 season opener at Texas Tech to air on national TV, the network announced today. To accommodate the broadcast, SMU and Tech have agreed to move the game to Sunday, Sept. 5, with a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff. In addition to airing on ESPN, the game will also be broadcast online at ESPN360.com.
ESPN, The Worldwide Leader in Sports, reaches over 99 million homes, and ESPN360.com is distributed to more than 50 million homes.
The game will mark SMU's second straight ESPN appearance, as the Mustangs routed Nevada, 45-10, in the ESPN-broadcast Sheraton Hawaii Bowl in its 2009 season finale.
Conference USA is finalizing league schedules and SMU hopes to release the remainder of its 2010 slate later this week.
