Dozers scheduled before football starts

August is the scheduled start date for the demolition of the area on the south side of Mockingbird across from the SMU Bookstore including Flower Mart, 7-Eleven, Mrs Baird's and everything else in that teardrop site. We'll be getting some real nice student housing, a huge new bookstore, a new La Madeleine, a new CVS and some other "stuff". I guess that could eliminate some football parking if they don't get the debris hauled off.

I think the liquor store has been gone for several years now.

According to the site plan as it stands, the La Madeleine/Bookstore/CVS shopping center will remain intact as of the time being. I've been told that the future plan includes building a mixed-use project on that shopping center site with student housing on top of retail (to consist of bookstore, La Madeleine, CVS, possibly one or two other establishments)

Binkley is going nowhere

That was told to me in the bus on the way to the USS Arizona by someone who would know.

Unless they were talking about the old Binkley apartments which were bulldozed last year, they are wrong, and that's all I'm going to say about it.

I hope so I want to keep my parking.
Look for a garden walk way for GB

you mean BG as in binkley garage? Because if so there is a new walkway between the garage and Westcott field

Correct -- Street parking on binkley outside moody will no longer be available.

Binkley connects right into new library. Assume goal is to make it pedestrian and there is no through traffic.

For those with Binkley parking, Milos is going to offer a shuttle bus during bball season that runs 1 hour before and after game. They are in negotiations to add one run at halftime to be called the "mestengo one more run".

Hope they put in extra parking — a lot of extra parking.
