JJ and Recruiting... Amazing!!!

Postby mustang musashi » Fri Mar 26, 2010 11:04 pm

Does anyone recall a time when SMU had early interest from 8 4* /21 3* recruits for one off season? I thought JJ would turn around the recruiting in SMU, just never thought he'd do it this fast... Amazing!!!

great to see we are going after the bigger prospects now... I am not sure we will land them, but give it a few more seasons like we had last fall, and some big names will be playing in Gerald J soon

yup the mustangs have come a long way in such a short time... there was a time when they'd struggle just to get 1-2 3* recruits listed, much less any 4* recruits... 8 4*s and 21 3*s, are you kidding me??? this has got to be one of the most impressive mid major recruiting lists in the country so far ...

Very happy to be starting out this way but I'll be a ton happier if we can land a few. 4 stars is what it will take to really ratchet this thing up a notch. I definately feel like I am paying for a BCS program when I renewed my seats.

Absolutely LOVE IT!! And I think even if we pull off another 8-4 season we will see the 2011 class look awesome!

We haven't won any battles yet but hopefully we can sign someone like Lee or Yenga in the next couple weeks and start giving this class some momentum.

These are the higher quality student-athletes that SMU should be recruiting...Coach Jones (and staff) is a real difference maker. Go Mustangs!

Let's win a few battles before we pat each other on the back. Being involved is far different then signing elite classes. So far, and this is probably just me, I'm just not all that impressed w/the offers many of the kids we're targeting seem to have. Forget stars, who else of worth wants these kids, should be the gauge.

No kiddin'. But for a fair and balanced analysis-we are recruiting and getting our foot in the door with more top prospect-none of which have committed.

that's a good thing, no doubt about it. Hope we can grab a few.
