84th Shipley, WR Texas - Bengals (will never sniff a wildcard game EDIT: could be part of something new in cinci)

85th McCoy, QB Texas - Browns (no comment needed)

82nd Emmanuel Sanders, WR Southern Methodist University - Pittsburgh (hold the most Vince Lombardi Trophies)

After these selections, everyone then had to listen to Mac Brown spew for what seemed like a couple of days about how going to Texas gets you to the NFL.

PONY UP

Someone should have pointed out to that piece of Bevo poop that Oklahoma had as many players drafted in the first 5 picks than Texas did in the first two rounds.

GO PONIES!!!

I am not fond of Mack Brown but maybe the fact that OU had more players picked high than TU shows that Brown does a better job of coaching than Stoops or maybe Stoops is a better judge of talent and the TU recruiting clssses are overrated somewhat. Just a thought.

If I recall, two of those OU draftees were essentially out almost all of last season...

Hate to break it to you, but Texas does get you to the NFL. That is why they have the most players in the NFL right now. That was a stupid comment

Thanks for breaking it to me. I always wondered why the NFL has scouts, combines, etc.

Why spend so much time and effort evaluating an individuals talent when you can simply draft by school?

Last time I checked, the Bengals are the defending Division champs...I suspect Shipley will see some playoff games.

I stand corrected -- AFC North Champs to be exact.

it was also amazing how the ESPN guys went on and on and on and on...after Colt McCoy was finally picked....reporter at his house....i mean it was like the guy had been picked in the Top 5. Colt seems like a nice young man, but jezzzzz I get sick enough to vomit constantly seeing all the coddling those stinkin Horns get.

question: Was Mack Brown the only current major college football coach that made the call from the podium for a team's NFL pick? Please tell me there were others or I will throw up again!

Mac looked out of place. He is good in short bursts with several standard lines he uses for recruits and their parents. He is definitly a popular figurehead. I think TCUs draft results over the past few years are much more impressive. UT has recruited and signed the best football athletes in the great state of Texas for years. I know it sounds weird but they should have much better draft results.

What don't you understand about the most players in the NFL? Plus, don't forget about the recruits who left early

At least Shipley and McCoy are only a few hours apart so they can continue their relationship.

TCU has had better draft results over the years...NO

Just a few Texas NFL players right now in the "past couple of years": Vince Young, Brian Orakpo, Nathan Vasher, Casey Hampton, Aaron Ross, David Thomas, Cedric Griffin, Jamaal Charles, Derrick Johnson, Kasey Studdard, Jermichael Finley, Leonard Davis, Roy Williams, Cedric Benson, Cory Redding, etc...

TCU: LT, Herb Taylor, and a bunch of guys I have never heard of.

sorry just proving my point that TCU has not had better draft results.

that huge 6-7 Webb kid an OLineman from West Texas A&M also started out at Texas and played as a freshman before flunking out. Add him in and UT has as many draftees as the entire 12 team CUSA.
