CUSA scheduling

there are indications the new CUSA has not decided yet on how the schedules will work, leaving open the possibility we will play the 5/2 football schedule the WAC talked about. Would be nice to have only one long distance conference road trip, which for some will still only be to Memphis or USM (both closer than UTEP). This also sets the stage for games with Army/Navy who might play as "associate" members. For the eastern group, it allows more non-conference games in their "neighborhoods".
In hoops, the early indication is "no divisions" so everyone plays everyone. The next question is "how many conference games?" In other words, how many teams do you play home/home? Does each school designate a "rival" for only one home/home series and play only 12 conference games? This would allow everyone to put together an attractive non-conference schedule and give CUSA more opportunities to earn some notable wins against BCS schools.
I like the possibilities. Of course, those "permanent rivals" for bball scheduling would be better with SMU/TCU, Houston/Rice, Tulane/USM, Tulsa/Memphis, etc...
