Doesn't look like the 2004 season will get off to a very good start after games against Texas Tech, TCU, and Oklahoma State.

let me be the first to say in mocking tribute to those that have come before-"Bennett just can't win in September-he just doesn't have his teams ready to play" "If we can only find a coach who could teach fundamentals and motivate the boys...."

Tech may lose Leach, has 18 Seniors on team, I believe 7-8 starters on offense are Seniors.
RESULT: Not quite as bad
TCU (may lose Patterson) loses a lot of players (20 Srs) as well.
...as does OSU (20 Srs including Tatum Bell and Rashaun Woods)
The only team of the three that should be near as good would be OSU.
Whether or not our Freshman are better next year is debatable, but at least we have most of our lettermen back.
Not ready to predict better than 0-3, but we should be better in these games.

As for Tech, people were saying the same thing last year when Kingsbury left. We all know how that turned out...

GoRedGoBlue you are hilarious-man if anything the Tech program will be getting better because they started about 5 redshirt freshman on the defense. Have you factored in the fact they committed the No.1 JC QB in America plus about 4 other 4+ star JC All-Americans with more expected. You might want to wait until at least signing date before you start with your world famous predictions. Right now Tech has the 9th higest rated class in the country and many of those players will help Tech NEXT YEAR. BTW I guess that means that if SMU doesn't beat Rice or La Tech it is VERY likely that SMU will be riding at least a 15 game losing streak with a head coach with a lifetime record of 3-24. Not much recruiting momentum there

look - as we have all found out - don't say anything negative about Tech (like for example they are always in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 - and not matter what can't seem to elevate themselves) or Stallion will come swooping down on you like winged death.

Hmm, so you are saying a bunch of Freshmen will improve next year for TECH.
Interesting that that doesn't apply for SMU.
They lose 3 of their starting WRs and their starting QB.
PREDICTION: Tech's offense will have a down year in 2004. I didn't say ****TY, I said DOWN.
REGARDLESS, THE FACTS ARE THEY GRADUATE 20 SENIORS which was my ONLY point.
I didn't PREDICT a victory over them next year.
Why don't you just call the athletic department, oh, wait, I forgot you a banned booster. If this were an SMU supported site, you'd be in violation of the SMU ban.
GOSTANGS, you are right, I forgot he cheats on SMU with RedRaider Leach.

I'm with you, GoRed. Barring a miracle, we will probably be 0-3 after those games, but we won't lose by the same 50 pt average margin that we will this year (that margin could get even bigger depending on the TCU game in a couple of weeks). Those other programs won't have any significant drop-off in talent, but I believe SMU will be more competitive.

They have already got commitments from a 5 star JC QB-the best in the nation- a 4 star JC LB, a 4 star JC WR, two 3 star JC DLM not to mention a 4 star HS QB and a 4 star HS WR plus several close commitments supposedly on the horizon with at least 3 top JC players. I'm not even going to bother to mention the numerous 3 star HS recruits. I don't believe SMU has ever signed a 4 star recruit since the DP. Yeah I think Tech is going to fill their holes a lot better than SMU will.
