spring games don't mean a whole lot, but what's up w/ the O at UH? 12 sacks?
7. Houston: The Cougars' defense spent the spring in transition with new defensive coordinator Brian Stewart, who inherited a talented but young group that struggled mightily last season. Stewart’s work paid dividends during the spring game when his defense had 12 sacks, three interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Those three teams in front of us aren't bad teams.

There are some teams behind us that aren't bad, either. Navy, BYU, UH ... Nevada, before getting CRUSHED in its bowl game!

Is all of this a bit much, should we tap the brakes?

It doesn't hurt our brand during the conference realignment dynamics. My hope is that we are pulled into a stronger orbit for the future, when the conferences may need to "find and replace."

way too much too fast. I'm optimistic & excited but we won't belong in that company until 2011 at the earliest

Although I tend to agree with what you are saying, we were suppose to be raw meat for Nevada in the Hawaii' Bowl. We all saw how that played out. I don't think any of us really know how good or bad we are.

Of course y'all are right that this is too much too fast. But it's fun to be getting this kind of publicity. And, as mathman says, who knows? My gut says a small step back this year with real fun 2011 and beyond.

i am a sunshiner...but this is nuts...yeah we won 8 games last year...but many of those games could have easily gone another way....we will have to fight like hell to beat many of those same teams this year...i still predict 6 wins and 7 if we're lucky and stay injury free. we are still a toddler taking baby steps.
