Tech's offenseWhat's Tech's offense going to look like against us? Their offense has to be a cluster the first couple of games. Potts is a statue. Sheffield's made for this offense except his made of glass. Scotty Young will be too young and probably not athletic enough. Tech fans say they love the 3rd and 4th string guys. I'd love to see them too. There are always growing pains in a new offense...still think we're a longshot but I just don't see them moving the ball on us (unless we don't do something to shore up the ng position).
Re: Tech's offensethe last thing Tech has to worry about is finding a talented QB to put on the field against SMU-they all are pretty talented. The biggest annual question is whether SMU's defenders will be able to mount a pass rush against Tech's usually formidable Offensive Line.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Tech's offenseYou're right, talented qb's aren't in short order in Lubbock but finding a good qb for their new spread might be a challenge. Potts will be a disaster if he's required to move his feet.
Installing a new offense will be more significant than who's playing qb for them...
Re: Tech's offenseFrom what I understand, they ran more than they passed in the spring game. Take that for what it's worth.
Re: Tech's offense
I was curious so I just checked. very balanced. might pass a little more when they get their first 2 stringers back. no way Scotty Young's ready for the first game. "The offense looked fairly balanced Saturday. Seventy-six passing attempts and 62 rushes. Alex Torres led receivers with 115 yards on 10 receptions, but Cornelius Douglas had the best average catching the ball five times for 106 yards." http://collegesportsblog.dallasnews.com ... 4-tie.html
