Hal Jay loves SMUIn a fun piece following a piece on the Big 10 expanding to 100 teams, Europe and the Orient, Hal Jay made an impassioned plea for the Big 12 to add BYU, TCU and SMU. Brian Estridge rather Poo Poo'd SMU. But, Hal was adamant - over U of Houston.
Long live Thomas Sowell!
Re: Hal Jay loves SMUEstridge is a complete idiot. It amazes me he's employed.
Re: Hal Jay loves SMUNo kidding. I hadn't heard him on ESPN radio, and was hoping he had left town, since I always felt like I somehow knew less every time I heard him ramble on. What station is he on now? Need to make sure to avoid listening to it.
Re: Hal Jay loves SMU
he's the voice of the frogs on 103.3
Re: Hal Jay loves SMUStill? I thought he left the station.
That guy is brutal. The Knuckleheads should work his idiocy into the Frogs jokes they have in their next song.
Re: Hal Jay loves SMUHadn't read this since I posted it. But, leave it to SMU posters to take a positive and crap on it. Estridge and Jay usually take every opportunity possible to promote and say good things about SMU and FORD. Somehow you guys can't stand or take good coverage. Estridge is co-host on the morning show with Hal Jay on WBAP. And, to add to that, I expect his life has been enhanced greatly by not having to listen to Galloway on a regular basis.
Long live Thomas Sowell!
Re: Hal Jay loves SMUShould the MWC expand before the other conferences do, what is your take on them adding Boise, Houston, and SMU? Do you think the MWC will ever be accepted as a BCS conference? What if Utah is not there any more, or both Utah and BYU leave? Would we ever develop any rivalries other than TCU and/or Houston? Would this be a smart move for SMU? Would New Mexico, San Diego State, and UNLV be a good swap for UTEP, Rice, Tulsa, and Tulane for SMU? What about playing in the Mountain or Pacific time zones? What about the increased travel costs for the other sports other than football? Would there be enough additional revenue to cover that? Would the mtn TV network work for SMU? What if Houston says no?
The more I think about it the more I like C-USA West just the way it is. And I can't see the MWC any stronger. The Pac-10 and Big XII will cherry pick them, so we'd be better off to stay put. (In my opinion). The same for Boise and Fresno.
