The NFL Draft has come and gone, and when he didn't get selected, SMU's Bryan McCann was the subject of a small bidding war between a handful of teams who wanted to land him as an undrafted free agent. McCann signed with the Dallas Cowboys, a move that became reality last weekend when he took part in his first mini-camp with his new team. McCann shadowed receivers like first-round draft pick Dez Bryant all over the field, and fielded punts and kickoffs, all in an effort to show his new coaches that he has what it takes to play at the next level. McCann visited recently with PonyFans.com to share his experiences from his first weekend as a pro, from the first time he saw his name over an NFL locker to the time he looked up and realized he was about to go one-on-one against Bryant. http://www.ponyfans.com/features/index.php?id=168Enjoy! Great stuff! Can't wait for Cowboy preseason to see McCann hit the field.

Scandrick is one of the best athletes on the team hands down; needs to perform better.

What makes you think Scandrick is "one of the best athletes on the team"? Seems like just another little guy with decent quickness to me. There's a reason he lost his starting job to Jenkins in one game last year.
Here's hoping Bryan plays so well Scandrick is relegated to "afterthought" status, anyway.

Scandrick's job is not in jeopardy, he will be the 3rd corner. McCann needs to deal with several no-name guys to get either the 4th corner position or a 5th if they decide to keep 5. On special teams they have a couple of draftees that are probably ahead of him at the return positions, Dez Bryant and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah (who looks like a great athlete also, similar to McCann but stronger).
I think McCann is wearing #6, BTW.

Not at rookie mini-camp — he wore 37.
