The Mustang Club has negotiated a $145 per night rate at the InterContinental Hotel (St. Charles and Poydras) for the Tulane game on October 30. Walking distance to the quarter and the game. I went ahead and reserved a 4 night stay through the 31st. A lot going on that weekend in NO. Our game, Halloween, the Saints and Pittsburg and the Voodoo Festival.

called the hotel and tried to reserve and was told they havent set up the block yet. "You might want to contact our group sales person" etc etc etc.

when i called the person answering the phone said she could help me with a reservation. I asked for the "Tulane Football game rate for SMU". It took her about 10 seconds to find the group. The rate type shown on my confirmation is "tulane university" for $145 per night. I would try again. You can use my name as a reference if you want.

There was a minor glitch earlier with them finding the reservation but Debbie in the MC office got it straightened out and it should be fine now. I was able to book without a problem.

Will be in NO in August for L. Armstrong Jazz Festival.

I heard Mestengo and OTP, are picking up the bar tab! I just love those guys! Pony Up!

The lineup isn't posted for the Vodoo Festival, but when it does the flights and Hotel rooms will fill up quickly. The Emmanual Sanders Steelers will be playing the Thomas Morestead led Saints at home that weekend as well. And Halloween in New Orleans always makes for a strange place.
Should make for a damn fine weekend in NO!

finally got reservation made, after namedropping mustangbill's surname. Official rate code is "Tulane rate."

I called they did not have a clue, perhaps group sales not on the weekend.

Sounds like a fun and busy weekend in New Orleans MBill. Might have to jump on board. Haven't been seen Katrina.
