I always thought this was a big issue for Big-12 north teams leaving the league....

Would it be in Nebraska and Missouri's best interest to stay in the Big 12 for recruiting purposes in Texas, or is that not a big deal?

SportsDayDFW.com: Nebraska, not so much. The Cornhuskers really haven't made that much of a beachhead in Texas. Missouri, yeah, that's a concern. The Tigers have nearly as many Texans on their roster as the entire Big Ten. Plenty of Texans like Chase Daniel and Sean Weatherspoon have made their mark in Columbia. Good luck prying those players out of the Lone Star State when their families won't be seeing them anywhere close to Texas.

does SMU have any realistic chance of bettering its situation in all this potential shake up ?

12:14 SportsDayDFW.com: You never know. Steve Orsini and the administration at SMU know the possibilities. The best thing for SMU might be the Big Ten staying to its 12-18 month timetable then going to 16. If June Jones considers the Mustangs' football resurgence -- how does 11-3 sound? -- SMU could be in a much better position.
