Re: SMU is getting a GREAT GA (Elimimian)By the way, Abe Elimimian was selected as the 81st best football player of all time for Hawaii.
http://www.starbulletin.com/specialprojects/09/centurions/cards/20090620_centurion81.html Abe's younger brother Sol was selected as the 31st best football player of all time for Hawaii
http://www.starbulletin.com/specialprojects/09/centurions/cards/20090630_centurion31.html Abe and Sol have a younger brother who plays football in high school now...I'm guessing that recruit plays for the high school that Abe was coaching at before joining SMU.
Re: SMU is getting a GREAT GA (Elimimian)This is a comment from one of the members of SMU's football staff who served under JJ when both Glanville and McMackin were the DCs at Hawaii. I thought that SMU fans might be interested in this information...this does explain how JJ seems to get excellent (and overqualified, like Reinebold) GAs and how he helps his assistants progress in their careers.
It sure doesn't hurt for SMU to have their volunteer assistants move on to coaching positions at Blinn JC and a good Texas high school...
