Jeff ReineBoldJeff ReineBold ...WE ARE RECRUITING BIGGER FASTER MORE ATHLETIC GUYS TO SMU...THE LIST OF COMMMITS IS IMPRESSIVE, WITH RIVALS MAKING OUR RB FROM CINCO RANCH A 3 STAR ALREADY...TONIGHT IT IS BACK TO NEW ORLEANS TO FINISH LOUISIANA, THEN HOUSTON AND BACK TO DALLAS FRIDAY...PONY UP!
Re: Jeff ReineBoldHad Niemchi committed to, say, LSU, would he have been a 4 star? Inquiring minds want to know.
Re: Jeff ReineBoldNot yet I don't think. Isn't the general recruiting ranking for him between 50-60th ranked for the state of Texas? Last year there weren't there 40 something 4 stars in the state and that is after some 3 stars got upgraded to 4 stars? Niemchi could be a guy that gets upgraded I bet though.
Re: Jeff ReineBold
Sounds good...I just don't trust Rivals with some of their rankings. Their business, after all, is to drive subscriptions.
Re: Jeff ReineBoldlast year Rival's ranked the top 50 players in Texas as 4 or 5 star players, with the rest being 3 star or lower. If they assess Niemchi along the lines that the aggregate recruiting rankings have, that would put him in at a high 3 star. It'll be interesting to see what they give him as a numeric value.

Re: Jeff ReineBoldKC was 5A all-state as a junior. Hard to imagine him not being top 50 if he has a comparable senior season
Re: Jeff ReineBoldHe was ranked outside the Top 50 by all major recruiting services EVEN BEFORE he committed to SMU so I doubt there is present evidence of any anti-SMU bias. I bet he does drop a tad when Rivals actually does release their Star Ratings which they hadn't as of yeseterday-I think the report was erroneous. I read somewhere that Rivals is waiting until June 1. Then you can [deleted]. The reasoning I've heard is that he does not have sprinters speed and this is one of the deepest crops of RBs in Texas in years. Looking at the offers of the Top RBs that are in the Texas Top 50 there is some truth to that analysis.
