Got an e-mail today saying Ford Stadium is going to have a new (larger, higher quality) videoboard and a new sound system. Supposedly there will be no signage surrounding the videoboard — ads will be part of the on-screen imagery.

Anyone else hearing this?

Noticed a section of fence had been removed - to facilitate access to the scoreboard? Remember the old scoreboard clock at original Ownby - the round one with the "sweep" hand?

Preemptively, should we announce the expansion of Ford Stadium, fill in the horseshoe?

Daniel Burnham was quoted, "Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood and probably will not themselves be realized."

It is Christmas. The original Ford Stadium sound system was the worst thing about Ford. The scoreboard is fine. I don't think anybody realizes the impact this new sound system will have. I don't think most season ticketholders realize that beyond of the West side of the stadium, it was impossible to hear the PA. This is a critical piece to improving the overall gameday atmosphere.

I guess anyone who wants to hear classical music on NPR during the game will have to bring their own radio.

I'd like us to go retro and re-install a real grass turf. Of course that didn't work out so well when the stadium was built, but we should be able to maintain natural grass in Dallas. Football (and soccer) should be played on grass...
