Isn't it sold out every year with a waiting list?

We'd need to sell out every game to rival their average attendance over the last few years. I don't think we're near that level yet.

SMU touts selling out premium seating...now what about the rest of Ford?

Kate Hairopoulos / Reporter Bio | E-mail | News tips

SMU is touting that it has sold out all of its premium seating for next season - that's 29 suites and 731 club suites at Ford Stadium. A nice accomplishment, to be sure, especially since I believe the cost of doing so - via required donations to the Mustang Club - increased following the breakthrough success of the 2009 team.

But what I'm really curious about is how well SMU can build off last season's success in the greater Dallas community. At what point does the casual Dallas college football fan decide to swing by the stadium to check out June Jones and the Ponies?

SMU averaged about 21,000 fans a game last season, and of course the atmosphere improved as the Mustangs started winning and playing for something. But there's still a long way to go, and a lot of fans who remain on the almost-too-fun Boulevard for tailgating.

That increased Mustang Club donation really ran everyone out....

Each suite avg. 30k per year 3 yr contract...

I figure that there were prob 245 people who signed up for the club...at a min. of 2500 donation for those seats, thats a nice 600k for the program just in the stadium club...

6 of my friends dropped their 14 seats because of the price increase. Had them since stadium opened.
