I do have some sources inside the AD's office and someone who worked football camp over the weekend, but I haven't gotten any updates since Friday. All I know for sure is that I have heard no indication from the inside in the last 2-3 months that Nebraska has ever had any plan other than leaving. I'm not happy about it. I was holding out hope all along that UT and OU would put something together to convince them to stay, but I got the feeling any time I talked with anyone with inside info that there probably wasn't anything they could do--nor were they willing to either. Of course, until an announcement is made, there is always still a chance something can happen.

On the rumor front, if the Colorado rumor from today is true, it would seem that they have some assurance from Nebraska that they are leaving. The Frank the Tank blog seems to think this is still a play for the Big 10 to lure Texas, and that if ND says no, Mizzou doesn't get an invite right now: http://frankthetank.wordpress.com/

Crazy. So many bridges have been burned in the past week alone, it's hard to think a major shuffle isn't about to occur.

If Notre Dame stubbornly refuses to accept the Big 10 invitation that has been out there for years, it could just be that Nebraska is the ONLY invite. They could join Iowa, Minn, Wisc, Illinois & Northwestern to form the league's western Division. But what will they call themselves? And who does the Big XII invite to backfill?

only hope for cusa is to add 4 remainders of b12 to make memphis feel good about staying (add KU).

I'm sure KU, K-State, Baylor, and Iowa State are thrilled with the idea. Solidly non-AQ.

I like an idea like that if things shake out and Baylor, KU, KState and IS all lose spots in an AQ conference. Time for them to suck it up like we had to when the SWC fell apart.

That would be a great basketball league and a respectable football league and could be on par with MWC in a few years.

If all things go to hell, the CUSA West should take our 6 teams and make a new conference with the teams that got dumped that are more in our footprint. Not an AQ conference, but much better than we have now.

Tom Osbourn is credible. And he seems dead set on bringing NU to the Big 10. He's the reason why I think the Big 12 is going to blow up.

Omaha World-Herald says that Nebraska could announce by Friday that they will leave for the Big 10.
