I really believe that CUSA west (less one) plus the 4 remnants of the Big XII, plus TCU and Memphis would be more appealing to KU and Baylor than a MWC invite. Why? Basketball. If CUSA could somehow marry the eastern half to the BE remnants and the western half to the Big XII remnants and split, it would be the best scenario for all concerned. If TCU is given the opportunity to jump to that sort of conference vs. staying in the Mountain time zone, I think they would. Look at it KU, UTEP are former National champions in basketball. Rice former National champions in baseball. UH, Tulsa, Memphis all have had success over the years in hoops. SMU and TCU former national champions in football. All in the central time zone, easy travel.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

CUSA is looking after CUSA. Hopefully, Orsini is looking out for SMU. That is all I really care about.
