BIG 12 Survive after 8 leave

Luckily I am not smart enough to know if this is correct or not, but worth a read.
Basically it says big 12 needs 9 votes to kill the league. Only 8 are leaving. Each
team will have to pay 10 million plus some percentage to the league (4 schools left).
So the 4 schools left will get over 80 million dollars when the other 8 leave.
Then Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and either Baylor or Colorado cherry pick
4 to 8 other schools from MWC, WAC, and CUSA. Big 12 keeps conf, tv contracts, bowl ties,
but not sure if they still get auto bcs right away. Believe the rule is you have to have 6 teams who were in the same conf for 5 years to keep auto bcs.

Like all scenarios, long shot for us, but would be great to have

Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, TCU, SMU, and Houston.

I've been saying this since the PAC-16 story broke. Easy way for the MWC schools to get rid of their dead weight and geographic outliers.

that is assuming that as the real players (think nonAQs that have been in the top 25 lately) believe we're going to continue our current commitment to sports. it's not just what we want, it's what everyone thinks is best for them.

TCU plays us every year anyway, why not add us to MWC? They complain that we drag down their SOS, but that wouldn't be the case if we were playing everyone in the division and would surely help having us as travel partner. I think MWC has eyes for bigger fish though...

I always assumed that also. However, I read an article that discussed that when the Big East was raided and lost all of their most attractive football teams, they were down to 5 football teams...and they kept their AQ spot, bowl agreements and TV contract.

I think a lot of them want to add us, but the ones who don't see it as upgrading our status from CUSA to MWC, making us more of a player in their backyard.

Unless we are somehow needed for AQ status, TCU would be smart to stop playing us, and to blackball us from MWC. Losing to us, or having us in a stronger conference, gives us credibility and helps us recruit in their backyard.

In the same way, we need to keep NTSU in the shunnedbelt and never play nor acknowledge them.

There's talk today that some Pac-10 schools don't like Baylor's religious affiliation, putting Colorado into the lead for that last spot.

Colorado was never not in the lead.
