Texas Tech

Postby LakeHighlandsPony » Wed Jun 09, 2010 7:59 pm

I am puzzled why Tech is always an automatic admittance to Super conference discussions. What do they bring to the table? Have they ever won an outright conference title?? We have. Ever had a Heisman winner?-We have
If Tuberville bombs then what is so wonderful about Tech? Academics? Yea Right. I think Baylor and TCU have a better case than Tech. Thoughts

You need only look as far as your ridiculous system of government and its preoccupation with amateur athletics.

exactly. If you've ever seen Hance, Meyers, Montfort on TV, it's easy to draw the line to the folks one would encounter at the Capitol every couple of years. Same kind of folks. Ditto UT.

I know Tech can draw some fans but what else are you going to do in Lubbock. Where does that Lubbock TV Market rank??

143rd. But, if an SMU game was on in Dallas, and a Tech game was on in Dallas, the ratings of the Tech game would dwarf that of the SMU game. A better question would be how many Tech alumni live in Dallas.

Looked it up a while back and I think I found out the number was 28,000, compared to 40,000 SMU alumni in Dallas

you got a cite because I think that is way way off. There are many multiples of more Tech alumni in Dallas than SMU alumni. Tech has 30,000 students and a high percentage are from the DFW Metroplex.

Found it - "about 30,000" so I remembered slightly wrong but it's not much different than what I said

About 30,000 Texas Tech alumni are currently registered with the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area Texas Tech alumni association, Pond said. The majority work in banking, financial services, technology and legal fields.

yeah but that's 30,000 registered members. I'm sure its much higher in total numbers.
