June in Austin

Postby AusTxPony » Wed Jun 09, 2010 9:00 pm

Just back from the BBQ with June, and he said:
If one Big 12 team leaves, Mack Brown told him they are heading West.
This realignment will happen this year if it happens - before 2012 bowl negotiations.
SMU and Orsini are being pro-active.
The development of 16 team conferences is a step toward a Playoff.
Realignment jitters are not affecting recruiting at SMU.
The kids in Austin at camp (70 or so) was the best group yet.
Schools like SMU will have to go undefeated to have a shot at Nat'l Champ no matter what Conf.
Scheduling problems for good small teams like us since NCAA approved Div II games counts.
He said we have a chance to beat Tech if boys don't "wet their pants" in front of big Crowd at Tech.
We are playing Tech at the best time, first game.
We need to push SMU to make solid commitment to being top 25 in football, write Dr. Turner if you agree.
Applications up some 40% since Bowl Game.
I am sure there is more, so maybe other attendees can remember and post.

Not to pee in your cereal, but are these things supposed to be kept confidential like the "Lunch with June Jones" things were?
"I think Couchem is right."
