UH warned by NCAA:

According to data released by the NCAA on Wednesday, UH had an APR score of 885 — 40 points below the minimum accepted standard — for the four academic years from 2005 to 2009. The warning gives UH three years to show what the NCAA considers “substantial improvement” or face penalties ranging from scholarship cuts to a reduction in practice time.

LSU was higher than us? I know during the time measured LSU was a tier II school but still. How did this happen?

Remember JJ threw 7 guys out of the program, the Gunslinger left, Shawnbrey left early, this affects APR. As time goes on this will settle down some.

It will settle down but being at the top of APR scores is necessarily incongrous with winning D1 football

A little bit off the subject, but Eastang referenced the 7 students JJ booted. I believe that De'von Bailey was included in that group and that he has returned. He was very highly recruited as a WR out of high school. I believe he has turned things around and during the spring played both db and wr. Any word on his performance this spring and where he fits in position wise ?

Supposedly he is gone.

APR isn't negatively affected if those 7 left in good standing academically I don't believe.

I now understand why we are tied with UT and behind LSU. Heck, our own alumni haven't a clue whether some kids are on the team or off the team! There seems to be a lack of attention to detail that continues after graduation.
