Boy...that hurt (wink) (wink).
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

"This" will hurt little, very little. Simply a mockery of the NCAA & what it is.

The bigger question mark is the new coach - Kiffin. If they lose, it wont be because of the sanctions but the new coach selection.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

2 yr post season ban and loss of 20 scholarships across two sports seems significant to me. What would you have liked to seen?
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

What did they ban USC from? Any bowl except a BSC bowl? Bowls played in the same calendar year as the regular season? Did they ban the team or the band?

Limited recruiting contacts, probation and forfeiture of victories are also among the penalties regarded as possibly in play.

Looks like now is a great time to join the PAC X (10-12-14-16). It appears that the PAC X-1 will have greater opportunity for newbies with USC out of action post season for 2 years. One wonders if this was considered a selling point for the PAC X-1?
