TEXAS, TEXAS A&M CAN'T FIND COMMON GROUND

Texas and Texas A&M officials met Thursday in Austin to discuss whether to bolt to the Pac-10.

However, the meeting ended with the teams in limbo.

According to a source, Texas President Bill Powers wants to go to the Pac-10, but Longhorns coach Mack Brown wants to stay in the Big 12. Texas A&M's first choice is to stay in the Big 12; its second choice is to go to the Southeastern Conference, the source said.

Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds has said that he wants to keep the Big 12 together.

Colorado accepted an invitation to the Pac-10 earlier in the day.

So allegedly everyone wants to stay in the big 12 (?) but CO and NEB.
I guess filling those two with BYU and Utah doesn't help? And then UT starts their own network, rakes in the money and life goes on?

has Texas seen a ghost now and they go back hat in hand and give Nebraska a promise to play nice? BYU goes big 12, Utah goes Pac, Boise goes MWC and the Big 10 continues to chase ND for the next 20 years?

don't think its dumb. Going to the Pac10 is a massively radical step for the texas schools. easy to see an administrator not being able to pull the trigger.

No way does this story get this far down the road and doesn't get done. If anything, Texas and A&M are trying to work together to get Tech out of the equation and into the Big 10.

No. Not unless the Big 12 already had a TV network in place like the SEC and Big 10.
