Do you think SMU needs more time to be attractive, so therefore it is in our best interest to be as close to status quo as possible? Or, do you believe the Big 12 blowing up will enable us to align with the Big 12 leftovers, best of the MWC, and the Best of CUSA and earn AQ status?

I do think the Big XII should do some house cleaning and possibly kick out Iowa State.

i think we have a shot at a "new big-12" with baylor not wanting TCU in it and a need for more texas teams to replace those who left.

really torn on this one...if 16 team mega conferences are starting to roll, we need to be in..period. If this is a gradual process, we may need a few years and more bowl blowouts to get some more hype and look more attractive.

2 teams have been politicking fairly heavily the past 2 weeks

To attempt to answer your question, I truly believe if SMU continues to improve and become more attractive to the big boy conferences it will all be gravy. We are located in a great market and we have the money. We just need to expand our attendace and winning percentage. Right now we are not there, but we have great potential to be there in 2-3 years. My hope is the Big 12 finds away to stay togather to give us time to look more attractive. Because what this month showed us is the big conferences do want to expand (which is huge).

I believe the Big 12 should stay together (or I should say 10). This will allow a better chance for SMU and TCU to join the conference in the near future. If the league dissolves and goes to the Pac-10 or SEC, there in no way SMU would be able to join in the future.

Imagine now having to explain to your girlfriend that the Big 10 has 12 teams and the Big 12 has 10 teams?

Guys are always talking to their girlfriends about 10s being 12s.

I still believe Arkansas will be back in conference with UT if the Big 12 light stays together. Maybe go after BYU or Louisville as has already been mentioned.
