The TCU troll, Pony Snob, has told us over the last month or two that:
1. SMU has a terrible team. (Thanks pal, we never would have known if you hadn't told us.)
2. SMU is firing its coach.
3. SMU is dropping football.
4. SMU is dropping to Div. II.
5. SMU attendance at every game is 1,500.
6. SMU has lost all its recruits.
7. All the SMU players are transferring.
8. SMU is not going to Conf USA.
9. Conf USA is a terrible conference.
10. SMU can never compete with BCS teams.
11. SMU can never compete with Div I teams.
12. SMU can never compete with Div II or Div III teams.
13. TCU was better then, is better now, and will be better forever throughout all time.
14. TCU is everything athletically and academically SMU ever aspires to be and there is nothing SMU can do to ever approach TCU's lofty status.
15. SMU's future is predetermined to be black on black and there is nothing SMU can do about it.
I am waiting for his post that Dallas Hall has termites....and there are no exterminators....and there never will be! And, of course, TCU has no such affliction.
Yet, with all this unsubstantiated BS and total rumor-fill lack of credibility, you guys keep treating this infiltrator like one of the gang. He must belly laugh every time he demeans and degrades your school with these absurd statements and rumors. Hey, Stallion is tough, but Stallion's passion is clearly constructive and it is clear that Stallion truly wishes, hopes, and plans for a better day. Stallion's passion will eventually make us better; Pony Snob will not. Pony Snob is completely non-constructive with his taunts and snide putdowns and he just demeans, degrades, and creates absurd sky-is-falling rumors. And then he must laugh when no one has the pride to tell him to stick it!
Hey, I'm sick and tired of the pitiful football! I'm sick and tired of the embarrassment! But I'm even more sick and tired of Pony Snob rubbing our face in it every single day!
For the record, I think it is clear that SMU has the worst team in Div I football. But I think we all pretty much recognize and understand that by now. I can take all the bad news coming in the last two games, but how about offering up a solution or two other than the constant demeaning, degrading garbage put forth daily by Pony Snob.
Pony Snob, you pitiful jerk of a troll, tell us something we don't already know or, even better, how about offering a non-appocalyptic solution or two.

Then don't read his post, Einstein. If he is such and jerk and troll (anyone you speaks the truth is a troll, btw), why let him soil your shorts this evening? Just like SMU's football program and the excuses tied to it, I don't get it...

He's not a troll, but he is pretty clueless. If you think he speaks the truth, then you're an idiot.

That's right, I don't speak the truth when I say that our program is the absolute worst in the country. Believe me, I hope Bennett can get it turned around so that the "break-out" season is the first season we are in CUSA.

By the way, I give my money to the Mustang Club, buy football and basketball tickets and have ever since I graduated from SMU.

This is turning into a sunshine board, my god. We are the worst team in the country along with Army. I didn't think I would ever say that. Through all the 3-9 years and 4-7 years, I never thought we would actually come down to this. PonySnob may be a little extreme with some of his stuff, but he is right on the money with most of it. I am all for giving Bennett a true shot at turning it around. Northern Illinois has done it, TCU has done...it gives me hope. But all the mistakes our team makes, all the bad calls, all the terrible coverage, drop passes, and poor gameplanning makes me truly wonder about Bennett. But I am willing to give him a little more time than maybe PonySnob is.

Heck all we have to do is beat Rice next week and we are tied with the win totals in 3 of Tom Rossley's years. Can't remember exactly but we've probably been in the Sport's Illustrated's Bottom 10 5-7 times since the DP and I'm not including last year when we were for months. We've definitely challenged for the Bottom 10 in 8 out of the last 14 years. This is and has been a complete disaster for 14 years.

Why can't we all just stay positive instead of just attacking everything and everyone we can to justify our problems. The fact is, we have a lot of problems with no short-term solutions and the only thing that *certain* posters want to do is [deleted] and moan about how bad it is. If there's one thing SMU football fans should have learned by now, its that mediocrity is the norm. All of us on this board are aware of the issues that are plaguing football. We just don't whine about it with 3454534356 posts on gameday. Yeah, SMU football is winless, and may be winless for awhile still. The important thing is that we all stay SMU fans and come together to solve our school's problems.
Just don't state the obvious over and over..and over.. if you can help it. Go write an email to Copeland or [deleted] to your Mustang Club friends. Do something constructive because whining on this board will only give YOU a feeling of relief. It annoys the hell out of most of the rest of us.

That's all true Florida Mustang. If we were 3-7 right now or 2-8 or something, then we could look towards the positives...But this season is a complete and utter disaster beyond even words...We haven't even been close in most of our games. Our offense looks like a doormat high school offense and our defense has played jekyll and hyde all season...I think we are very close, if not already there, to pressing a huge, huge panic button.
