Big 12 needs to host a post season game- adding SMU and Houston is the quick easy fix an announcement will be coming by as early as Thursday/Friday

This is no longer as far-fetched as you might think.
What I was reading indicated that adding these two schools would somehow help UT.
It might hurt recruiting at SMU and UH.. somehow.. but the huge jump in TV revenue would be worth it.

Where are you getting this from? Yeah, it would be great if true, but I am having a hard time believing this. Its to good to be true you know. :?

huh? is this the theory that Texas is really scared of TCU? Right. I assess the probability of SMU and Houston being invited to replace Nebraska and Colorado at roughly 1%.

Of course it would help Texas. Now that Texas gets to keep all of the revenue from their tv network, they need games that no network will televise.

Please UT and Baylor have worked very hard to screw us over for years, now why would they want to ruin a perfectly good thing.

Dallas and Houston provide easy travel, great venue opportunities and access to large alumni for most of the ten institutions remaining in the Big 12. They need the spotlight Championship game and SMU and Houston are the easy answer.

My source says look for announcement coinciding with the press conference announcing that Texas/ and A&M are staying together for the fans/tradition etc. and to that end we are re-uniting with some of our old conference mates that happen to be two of the most up-and coming programs on the football scene today.......SMU and Houston will be unveiled at the press conference

I thought ModelT had the stupidest posts on PF but this one takes the cake. SMU and Houston do absolutely nothing for the current Big XII members.

alright, now this is getting ridiculous. Stop it. Even if you heard something, TCU will threaten a lawsuit and we'll get hosed. This will be an added chapter to the Larry Johnson, we coulda been a contenda saga.

I don't believe a word of this, but if true, on what basis would TCU sue? Because their campus is prettier than ours? We'd pour them out on that issue.
