Texas apparently has been at the forefront now of making the Big 12 whole again. The new look Big 12 could now include SMU and Houston, two teams that are right in Texas wheelhouse when it comes to marketing and recruiting. SMU and Houston would be foolish to turn down the invite but it will ultimately make their schools weaker when it comes to recruiting.

It says "could add," not that they have been offered.

Yeah but atleast we are actually being metioned for a change. Even if this doesn't happen its still a step up in my eyes.

CUSA
I say we throw out UAB, Memphis, Tulane, and Rice. With out those four in football it’s a respectable league

And add Baylor, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech and Carroll High school

I’m glad I have plenty of wine; you people are making my head swim.

Do you have any sources on including SMU & UH or is that conjecture based on a want/need to get back to 12?

Well i have no stake in either school getting in Big 12 but those two teams make sense. TCU could end up in Big 12 although they aren't much of a money team.

Nice...

judging from this comment in the article

" The PAC 10 is now in a full blown panic with the realization they will not have USC's BCS bowl money for two seasons now and they will make one final push to woo Texas. "

This guy clearly has no realy knowledge of how the BCS works with regard to conferences.

Chip Brown says the 10 left in the Big 12 will sign an agreement with no expansion from the present 10 teams for now. Of course, he has been fed wrong information all along from his sources. The bottom line is if they move the Oklahoma schools to the North than they are two short in the South ???

They aren't creating divisions with 10 teams so it doesn't matter....
