Funny reading the local Waco business owner talking about when "Nebraka" comes to town --- must be Dave Harts best friend.

Are you really disagreeing with his statement that SMU is not thought of in the same way as it was when it was in the SWC?

The report has a pro baylor/Waco slant. The same Baylor/Waco that 48 hrs ago was being left behind by not only the PAC 10 but also it's own conference.

I'm saying he should experience the boulevard and a game in Dallas.
Compare that experience to a parking lot and game in Waco.

Regardless of conference, ours is better.

I read as him comparing SMU in the SWC to SMU in CUSA.

Just another reason why the cartel needs to be broken up - but no one is willing to take the lead.

I wouldn't waste my time...Baylor in Waco, small fish in a smaller pond...Dallas, very big pond, SMU will continue to grow with June feeding it.

I took it as an implication that the overall school was not thought of the same way - not just the football program. If that is what he is saying he could not be more incorrect. I

f he is saying just football program then of course he is correct - at least for now.

As the potential realignment talk has been going on, there have been many people talking about how moving up to a more prestigious conference could benefit SMU as a whole, not just athletically.

It sounds like you disagree with that if you do not think SMU is thought of differently in C-USA than it was in the SWC?

I think it would help the school overall to be in a better conference, yes. But other factors outside of football have kept us from being thought of in a deminished way even though we moved backwards in football - namely the raising of over a billion dollars in endowment and improvements, increased quality in students and professors, virtually rebuilt campus, Bush library etc.... Without those things then yes the entire school would have taken a step backward - but our trustees made sure that did not happen by opening up the checkbooks. That reality is proven out by our overall academic undergraduate ranking which remains in the top four in the state.

Thank them when you see them for their generosity. Whatever viability we have is due to them.
