Wow, if this is true it would kind put us in the same position we were six days ago. It would be time to look for a better conference. :?

If there is any truth to this, it could be about the Fedex offer and the possibility of landing the Liberty Bowl. USF people might not like it, but they belong in the same conference as UCF

This change could lead to multiple changes in the non AQ conferences

If this is true, the Big East must have some assurance that they won't lose their BCS status. Even with the loss of Utah, the MWC is still knocking on the door. It doesn't make sense to bring in two teams that could hurt your AQ-status.

If this is true I think we should stay a 10 team conference. The only outliers are Marshall and East Carolina, but Marshall seems to like the CUSA west teams. The only teams that I think would make sense to add would be Louisiana Tech and maybe New Mexico State, but aside from them would we really want to add Sunbelt Conference schools?

SMU
Rice
Houston
Tulane
Tulsa
UTEP
Southern Miss
UAB
Marshall
East Carolina

East Carolina is the diva, but if they get left behind by the BE, they might just leave CUSA for either the MAC or the SBC. Their fans are grating at the fact that they are the outlier and would put up a fuss if we moved the conference further west. They want MTSU and WKU and if they move up Appy State. I would want none of those. I would of course think that most of the CUSA teams would want La. Tech and then another team. I think we should look at Northern Illinois (Chicago) as probably the next choice. Another possibility would be Temple (Philly) even though they want football only. Unless the BE is ready to split in half (all sports vs.football), I don't see them adding two more teams unless its for football only. If that's the case, they would not choose Memphis (except for access to the Liberty Bowl), otherwise there are better programs for football (Marshall and ECU).
