we run the table in '10. Then play the hand we get next spring.

Does the MWC gain anything by adding right now? Why wouldn't they just wait till next summer?
None of the teams they would be adding are going anywhere........

Yeah, the BE really wants to land that 19th media market and 33rd media market and go to 18 schools. And unless they are dividing the football and non-football schools, why would they do that. Is the NCAA tournament committee going to slot the BE with another slot for basketball? If not, then you just added another hurdle to get to the tournament by adding Memphis to an already brutal league for hoops. If you're a bubble or lower team, are you going to vote to add Memphis and shoot down your own chances at the dance? And UCF, decent football, but probably does nothing for their TV brand. They'd be better off promoting Villanova from FCS.

CUSA loses it's championship game and a chunk of it's TV revenue would be my guess.

I would expect pressure to add replacements and get back to 12 members and save the championship game. It's not like Memphis and/or UCF were strong candidates to appear in that game anytime soon.
The real challenge is to find quality replacements for 2 of the larger schools in the conference.

Our hope for the foreseeable future is to improve our current conference. Let's hope that if and when that happens SMU, UH, UTEP, Tulsa, ECU, Marshall and possibly others have their act together and we can entice TCU to come back to CUSA. Then you can look at adding Louisiana Tech, New Mexico, or Temple. Adding Lousisana Tech and TCU would make CUSA just as strong if not stronger than MWC with better travel for the CUSA West teams. After all MWC is all about BYU TCU and Boise State. If CUSA improves enough such that we can offer 4 legitimate contenders it would make much more sense for TCU to be in CUSA.
