penalties and coaching

Postby Hoop Fan » Sun Nov 09, 2003 6:23 pm

SMU had only 4 penalties for 20 yards. Thats a big improvement over the school record at Tulsa two weeks ago. La Tech had 11 penalties for 163 whopping yards. Chalk one up for size and speed mattering more than anything else. Things always look more extreme than they are. Get 5 or 6 jucos on top of 16-18 quality high schoolers and things can improve in a hurry.

That's a great plan, but I don't think we have that many scholarships to play with this year. The estimates I've heard are around 18 - including any JUCOs who choose to come on board.

with all the guys leaving for rock bands and intramurals, we don't have more than 18 to give?

in that case I probably would look for 15 high schoolers and 4 JCs. I wouldn't mortgage the future for some jucos but we gotta have some help that can play right away.
