U.S. Soccer/Ghana World Cup game-watching party

Postby PonyPride » Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:13 pm

The U.S. Soccer National Team is through to the round of 16, and now it's do-or-die in every game. The U.S. plays Ghana — the same nation that kept the Americans from reaching the round of 16 four years ago — and the place to watch the game is at the official PonyFans.com game-watching party at Lakewood's 1st & 10 (northeast corner of Mockingbird and Abrams). The game is at 1:30 p.m., but seating will be at a premium, so get there early!

Seriously packed today, too bad for the loss. Seemed to be quicker and had finishers at the net.

Did anyone else see the sign hanging over the urinal? An ad for 1st & 10 that touted the place's "fried foodstuffs."

In an era when people view the word "fried" like some kind of slur, would it not have been better to say "kick-ass burgers" or something?

Cheers to 1st & 10, though — had a hell of a time watching the game. Glad I made the drive over.
