That's a fair assessment, although I think we'll end up with an above .500 record. Not sure how he can give our special teams a C grade, when Margus blocked more field goals/PAT's than most teams did.

I have to say I agree with the 6-6 prediction. I think we sneak into a bowl at 6-6 or 7-5 this year. We had just too many "lucky" breaks last year, combined with key player losses, to predict any better, not to mention the harder schedule. I do think we'll be an overall better team.

I REALLY think we have 9 wins this year including the bowl game in Hawaii.

i agree but i think the lucky breaks got balanced out with the unlucky choking away of a few games as well.

In this rare case, I THINK COUCH'EM IS WRONG! Most of our tough conference games are at home, and Padron should have a better grasp of the offense. With a win at home against WSU (hopefully) and if we can pull one out on the road agaionst Navy or ECU we should be in good shape.

We had better beat Washington State like a step child at home. Anything less would be inexcusable.

I think 7-5 but I am putting my money on 8-4. I belive, the UH game and UTEP road game are key. If we can win both of those games and no surprise loses(if we beat UH, need to keep focus at Tulane following week) we can win eight games in regular season.
I think we will be gelling by the UH game and we whip UH for Homecoming.

i bet we put together another 8 win season. Kyle is going to be impressive this year. Im concered about the secondary(and the defense as a whole) but Padron is a winner and our offense is going to put up a lot of points.

I've said all along that I think we will go 6 -6 or 7 - 5. We should be better in all facets, however, our schedule is a bit tougher than last year. I think our key conference games will be UTEP and Tulsa - because they are winnable. I think these two games will mostly decide if we go bowling. Obviously beating Houston and E. Carolina are also important to get to the conference championship game.

I am not sure I agree with Nevada ranked ahead of us. Which game do we win that we are not supposed to win?

ECU has a new coach and Pinckney finally graduated. Navy, we should have beat them last year. As long as they don't have another monsoon in Annapolis, it should be a great game. WSU should be a win. I am not completely ruling out an upset of TT. UAB, Tulane, Rice are all beatable. UTEP, Tulsa, UH, are toss-ups. The only game that I feel we have no business winning is TCU, but stranger things have happened against the Froggies.

So many ifs. We are a bit more experienced than last year. We have more depth overall. If we stay healthy, 7-5 is very likely. A few breaks and we are 9-3. A few disappointments and we are 5-7. We are not at the overall talent level where a winning record and bowl game are year in and year out strong possibilities.

The one thing by far and away in our favor this year is we have kids that have learned how to win. And we had several games where our D had to make late game stands and did. Knowing how to win goes a long way.

We also had the opportunity to practice what--20 times over the month of December? Maybe it isn't that high but still for the first time in eons we actually reap the benefits of bowl practices and an extra game instead of sitting at home watching other teams on our schedule get the benefit. I really have know idea if that makes much of a difference in the end, but hey, couldn't hurt, right?
