Saw "Purple Reign" billboard (season ticket sales) for the first time today. Hwy. 360 in Grand Prairie. Not as creative as last year's campaign but it gets your attention. If our "push" is underway, I haven't noticed - other than the decreased balance in my checking account.

Didn't Orsini eliminate the entire marketing department as some kind of a cost-cutting move? If so, we might be seeing all of the publicity we're going to see.

wonder if they checked in with Prince on that one. He and his handlers are notoriously protective of the Prince brand.

Anyone want to send 'the artist' a heads up?

We could go with the "This is It" Michael Jackson mantra. Course he died. Okay, scratch that.

They're not exactly the most creative marketing department over there. A couple of years ago, they copied Maryland's "FEAR THE TURTLE" slogan with "fear the frog."

You'd think their budget would allow them to employ people capable of coming up with their own ideas, right?

Maybe we could secure a sponsorship from Chick-fil-A. The cows and Peruna on some billboards... any ideas for "clever" wording? Bueller?

But our athletic department does have some folks doing some kind of sponsorships sales, right? So maybe they do a lot of the same things without being called a marketing department?

I never understood having a marketing department that hired out the marketing to another company.

Yeah Orsini probably figured winning was a more
important marketing tool than a marketing department.

Go figure?
